I noticed a judgement on my CR from '96 (Yes, it has been years since I looked at my CR) I had no idea about this so I called the Virginia Beach Dist Court to find out what it was for. First off, the docket that is listed has a totally differant soc. sec. number then mine, differant name. This is NOT Mine!!

I called the CA that brought this on and they don't have my real or maiden name in their computers. The Supervisor acknowledged that this person is not me and there is a mistake. She said that she would have her boss verify this with the court and get back to me. No one has called me back. They put me on hold or put me to someones voicemail everytime I call.

I was playing nice until I got blown off. Now I am a little peeved off. Who knows how many times this has effected me getting credit since '96. BTW it falls off in November 03.

I have dispute letters in with all 3 CR agencies.
Any advise on what to do now will help. I don't want to wait for this to fall off....it's not mine!!

Very very easy. I would dispute online with all 3 CRA. Someone will physically go to the courthouse, and verify on the court documents that, 1. the name matches, 2. the address matches, 3. the ss# matches.

If the court verified that they don't match, you don't have a worry in the world. I should fall off before the end of the month. Except with EQ. I've heard sometimes they say they verify, and they don't do a thing.

Don't worry, it will work out for you. Good luck

And when that doesn't work, file suit against the CRA for postng erroneous information in your file. Public records are different from creditor posts in that the CRA goes out and finds the info - the Court doesn't automatically send it to them. So the CRA is the originator of the post, and cannot hid behind "well, taht's what we were told...."

Is there a letter that I can send to the CRA? I tried to find one in the sample letters thread but am not sure if they pertain to this problem?
    Thanks!
