Hello I had a judgement from 1991 paid via garnishment of my bank account in 2002. Now it is showing up on my CR as a new collection -dated the month I paid it -10/2002. Isn't this against FCRA? I tried o dispute it with Equifax (the only CRA it shows up on) ad they came back as verified. HELP! what appraoch do I need?

    Time to sue the CA.

Re-aging is a violation of FCRA Section 605(a)(4) (15 USC 1681(c)). See also the FTC Amason and Johnson Letters.

Since this debt was paid off by levy on your bank account I would also consider the re-aging to be a deliberately inaccurate posting prohibited by FCRA 623(a) (15 USC 1681s-2) because they should KNOW they got paid last year. "Gee, your honor, I know we cashed the check but I didn't know that constituted payment" sounds awful dumb in court.

I would ITS the CA immediately and follow through with the suit.
