A local Credit Union got a judgement for a credit card in 2000. I have been paying the bill from the credit card company since then... I have gotten my latest equifax report and the credit card company is now reporting all these lates that occurred prior to the judgement.. Two previous equifax reports and this tradeline is not there... My ? is since they never charged this off and got a judgement against me that is showing on my report can they also report the late tradeline. I believe im getting double hit here. They screwed me with the judgement, now there screwing me with the lates...
neo, kinda like having a BK entered as a public record along with the individual tradelines and history reporting -- sucks doesn't it? Sassy
It is correct that they report the lates and the judgment. The lates are a separate issue from ether the current status of the account or the judgment. You could do debt negotiation on the original account if you had the money to pay 60% to 100% of the debt in one lump sum to get rig of the negative account but the judgment will stay for 7 years because it is a public record. If you have no other negatives you should be in good shape perhaps 36 months from the last problem depending on the number of lates and the severity.
