Had 4 year old judgement verified. Happened when husband worked for a man who wrote us a hot check. We wrote rent from it and the bank honored it and paid rent but the funds did not come through on the check. We were doing bad at the time, so the account closed. Did not get notice and court hearing was in Virginia, not in Texas where we live. So, I need someone to tell me what to do now. thanks for the help.
Dispute again as 'not mine' after having the old address in the court file removed from your credit report. The verification is done by matching your SS#, name and an address on your credit report with the info. in the court file. Two of three must match. Most judgment files do not contain your SS#.
Mine contains the social security number. I maybe thought Lexington could help or learn of some other procedure I could do.
