I have a question about a judgement that is on my CR...This judgement is related to an ex-employer that tried to stiff me for traing fees. I have a judgement because when I left the company, I had signed a couple documents saying I would pay back training fees if I left within 12 months, well I left and had no problem paying the amount but they were trying to stiff me for $1000 more than what they deserved. So I had to take it to court and I ended up winning, but had to pay the amount I really did owe. But this still went against me as a judgement. My lawyer did not tell me anyhting about it being on my credit or did not suggest getting this removed as part of the settlement. This was 4 years ago and now it is killing my credit. I am upset because this was not a CC that I did not pay or a loan, it was a legitimate fight over an amount owed. I did pay the amount I owed off, so it was not that I was not going to pay. Any ideas if I can get this removed based on circumstances, or what else I could posiibly do? Help! Brian
From information posted here, CRA's match 3 fields on a judgement. They are: name, address, and ss#. 2 of three fields must match if disputed. Since most judgements don't include ss# and your address isn't the same as what it was, simply dispute it as "not mine". If the address you were living at when the judgement was filed is on your credit report as a former address, dispute that off before you dispute the judgement. Gib
Thanks, I actually forgot I disputed it with TransUnion and got that CR back today, they actually deleted it. So I called Euifax today and disputed it with them.. Thanks

This ever being reported and winding up on a credit report is! So I had to take it to court and I ended up winning, but had to pay the amount I really did owe. I totally agree, and it makes me madder that my lawyer did not inform of this or try to get it removed....I did dispute it and got it removed from TU and now trying with Equifax....hopefully that will go to...it was totally unfair
Yes, it's totally idiotic. You sue someone and win, and you get a judgment entered on your credit report!! Assanine!!
Sure it was-but it dont matter anything to keep your score low so they can over charge us for loans and insurance.
Well I am going to see if Equifax is going to remove, TU did and need to work on Eperian....Any ideas if they don't remove how I could get this off? Brian
Yeah, you can do their work for them - send them certified court copies of the case, along with a threat to sue if they don't update accordingly.
