The best way to get a collection company to remove items from your credit file is file in small claims court. File that this company reports a fraud account under my SSN include the account# when they don't show you will get a judgement on them. After you get the judgement ask the judge to let the record reflect the above. You fax a copy to the credit bureaus they will remove it the same day. David
The only problem with this is that this gets extremely costly, doesn't it? Each filing will be near $120-150 per listing. This also doesn't prevent shady collection places like NCO where they will change their name and re-submit the listing to the CRA.
