Urgent help!! I got a call from Academy Collections last night and told me if I did not pay a significant amount on a $2455 account(AT&T Universal Card) by Friday, they were going to have to take it to court and get a judgement against me. How exactly does a judgement work? I live in Texas and she said something about TX being an involuntary state for judgements. What did she mean? What are my choices?

Before anyone gets a judgement, they must file a lawsuit against you.You will then respond to the lawsuit and a trial date is set. They must win in court before they get a judgement.
