I live in IL. I recieved a judgement for medical bills in 2000, what i need to know is how to get a removal of the judgement, it is paid and showing satifisied on the credit reports, but i need to remove it and all of the medical bills that show up. It was filed in a county court house and i have all papers showing it is paid. Any advice would be hepfull.

    lbrown59,

    Thanks for your answer earlier!

I just pulled my default judgment and let me tell you, at least in Cook County, service seems pretty easy:

    You can mail certified.
You can give to the named defendant.
You can give to anyone of legal age at the house listed as the D's residence.

(If they served at all, my roommate probably took mine.)

Plus service usually comes from law enforcement and they sign that service was proper.

Or at least that's how it is on my document--your mileage may vary.
