I know I haven't been around here much, between health probs and work I have barely been able to hold my head up.

Discover card is calling again, and have a new person on the account. I was stupid enough to give the other person the name of my bank and where I work and they are talking about garnishing my paycheck. I understand that they go right to the employer to do this. Don't they have to give me some kind of written notice to do this? BTW I told the last person that called that I was moving and may be taking another job as they were laying off here (work for the state of CO). Should I call and give them a phoney employer, address and bank??

Another question, If there are two people on the same checking account, can they take money from it, i.e. I put my daughters name on my checking account? I know in MT, that was called "co-mingling" funds and it made it where they couldn't go in and take money out of an account. Does anyone know about this?

Thanks! I better try to drag my sorry sick a*& to work, before I don't have a job.

Why would you give them any information at all? Do you have caller ID? I would put caller ID on my phone and I wouldn't answer any calls that I don't recognize. If the display says 'Privacy Director' or some such thing - that person would be out of luck. You drain all their power when you don't talk to them. If they can't speak with you, they can't intimidate you.

I would instruct my friends to take privacy director off their phones if they ever wanted to speak to me again. Moving is a good idea as well. I advocate that. As long as they don't know where you work or more importantly - what your gross monthly income is - they will move on to someone else.
