Hi Everyone, Pulled my credit report yesterday and to my surprise found a judgment from a Furniture store listed on it from 1998. We never bother to get our credit report but decided to do so because of this board. Had my husband go to Small Claims Court and get a copy of it. It is for a male with my address and last name. If you take one of the e's out of my name it becomes Charles. I called the Court this morning and ask how do I go about vacating this judgment because it was on my credit report as my being the owner of it. She stated that they do not vacate judgments and the only one who could have it removed from their files is the original creditor. I asked did she have a telephone number for original creditor because there was none on Court papers. She stated no and informed me that she heard the Furniture store was out of business. I asked her what do I do in case like this and she stated she didn't know. I'm asking anyone out there who knows what my next step is to please reply? Thanks! For Inquiries, I filled out 3 Auto loans and gave each permission to pull my file. NoOw I have 16 Inquiries on my report. I always thought that when you apply for a loan that the one who you gave permission pulls your report and sends it to other financial and loan companies, not each company pull their own. Can I dispute the ones that I didn't give permission to, because these people just went wild with their inquiries. Also why is it that to dispute Inquiries you have to go to the Creditor who put it on their. Naturally they are not going to have it taken off. What should I do?
Well read the FAQ first. You can find answers to all these questions. For the jugement, First send Validation latter. and you can go from there. This was origanly posted by Idontknowwho. For inquiries Call these numbers and ask them you want to dispute those inquiries. EQ Technique: Call them up (888 873-5357) and tell them that you don't recognize the inquiries and that you never authorized them. That's it. They will tell you that they'll put in dispute for 21-30 days but in reality they take it off in a few days. EX Technique: Call them up (800 583-4080) and ask for their fraud department, tell them you have inquiries that you did not authorize and that you don't recognize. They WILL put them under investigation for 30 days and then delete them. TU Technique (I've heard about) 1) Threaten to sue after following up with letters sent CRRR. 2) Sob stories (my girlfriend got all hers off with this technique) 3) Bumpage
I got a judgement off just by doing a not mine dispute. EQ kept verifying it. I got a copy of the judgement and sent it to them pointing out the info that proves it's not mine and they deleted.
