I filed ch 7..and discharged a large sum of CC debt. I had 5 judgments from CA's..now I hear that the debt was discharged BUt the judgments are liens on my house??? I thought CH 7..got rid of judgments & liens..anyway they were unsecured, now they are secured all of a sudden??what gives..I am in NC & want to sell my home soon...everyone I talked to says that with the judgments if I make a profit I will have to pay them ..why? I thought the debt was discharged..this is a mess........how do I vacate or avoid these judgments....and sell my home & keep the profit..I need it to move.....
If you used an attorney for the CH7, you should definitely direct these questions to him/her. They will be able to answer this more thoroughly.
