If a judgement is renewed does that re-start the whole 7 year reporting period?

If your State requires a refiling with a new file #, then yes, it will be reported as a new judgment for 7 years from the new filing date.

However, in most States, the same # is used for the renewal, in which case it will not be re-reported.

Thanks...it got deleted from TU and EXP on the first try. EQ keeps verifying it. They say they are matching the SS#. I didn't see any SS# when I got a copy.

I sent a copy of the original judgment with a date well over 10 years ago to EQ damanding deletion.

The file # is the same so it seems like some service that sells the info to the CRA's sent a copy of the renewal in place of the original.

Earlier this month I sent EQ a copy of the judgement showing the original date was past the 10 years and pointing out the address wasn't mine.

Called EQ today and the rep said they are deleting it.

So you are saying they renewed but the cra's are saying they'll delete it because it's over 7 years old? Wow.

    What state are you in?
