Dani you make an excellent arguement, however this is not alway the case. I just went through this with Target Visa they gave me a 500 cl. I called and complained and they upped my limit to a 1500cl. After a few customer service issues with Target I got it bumped up to 4500.00 all of this occured in the last 2 months. A 500 cl for a person with a 175K income is a joke! My last payment to CapOne was 7200.00, before that it was 5400.00 a 500 cl does nothing for me. I do understanding banks being risk adverse to someone almost maxed out. Yet the way the credit industry works you need to voice your desires. We all know a great deal of FICO is based on usage ratios to what degree who knows? But we all know you need high limits to use your cards and not get whacked on points for making a decent size purchase.
