I received a letter from Juniper today and they closed my account on May 1,2003. The reasons are: Too many Accounts with Balances. Too many Bank or National Revolving Accounts. Length of Time Accounts Have Been Established. Too many inquiries Last 12 Months. I didn't care about that account that much and they only give me $625 credit limit. I got some other credit cards to use. It's their loss. Ron.
Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!! Ron - to hell with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From what i've read over the past few years - they're not a good bank to do business with anyway - you're better off without them.
Umm .... it could be your loss too ... they may report your account as "CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR" instead of "CLOSED BY CONSUMER" ... it would negatively affect your FICO .... Just a friendly warning
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! "CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR" AS A NEGATIVE MUST BE FOR "CAUSE"...late, over-limit, bounced checks, etc.
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! Hello Ron, I am sorry to hear that Juniper closed your account... what's up with that... well I still have them but guess what no cl increases, apr reduction, promo rates nothing... all they told me was Thank You for being such a excellent customer we don't have anything to offer you at this time... I feel bad that mbna closed my apple loc too... it shows closed by credit grantor cause of a prior account when they did a ar on a hard inq... don't feel bad you have alot of other cards that you can use... and the credit line that they gave you is a joke $625 wow you sure can get ahead with that... anyways forget them... if they are going to be like that you don't need them.... take care... Thx, Kev
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! Sorry to hear that Ron. I also don't believe "closed by credit grantor" hurts your score unless you did not pay on time or defaulted on the account. I have had one on my report for years due to the company going out of business. I also had a recent "closed by credit grantor" on my report from JCB as they don't offer cards in the state I am in any longer. Since my account have been "paid as agreed", this has not affected my score one bit. I am in the mid 700's on all three reports and have had no problems getting instant approval for prime cards with great rates and the lowest auto financing. I really don't think the "closed by credit grantor" is a bad as we think. JMO though. :=)
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! This isn't true. That notation in and of itself does not affect FICO. What it may affect is credit decisions in manual reviews (i.e. MBNA, credit unions). A lot of accounts are "closed by credit grantor" for a lot of reasons. If the account has a perfect history, it may simply have been closed for non use, and that won't raise any flags. But if the account has a string of serious delinquencies, then analysts can figure out why it was "closed by credit grantor". Even still, the accompanying lates on such an account will be the reason the credit score is low, not the notation itself.
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! Aspire Visa (affiliated with Juniper) closed my account as of May 13. They changed their policy regarding accounts in good standing. Thanks, losers. I cut up my Aspire Visa about a month ago, but still owe a balance at 32.8%. I kept it open when they raised the rate from 29.75 to 32.8, simply because I liked having the account. Now they close it anyway. Aspire/Juniper is just another fly-by-night bank that lends money without calculating the risk correctly, loses more than expected, and then blames borrowers with perfect records for the losses. Typical cult mentality, us vs. them, we're always right, cut off from reality and the outside world.
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! You might get lucky and they may put account closed by consumer. Providian closed my account, and at least the shitheads did that for me.
Good point. FCNB (Spiegel) did the same for me, or to me, as the case may be. But even more pertinent, Aspire has never reported any account information, which is the main reason I wanted to keep the card. So I'm assuming they won't report it once it's closed. I don't know what they'll do in Ron's case. He certainly deserves our sympathy. He's yet another victim of a deadbeat bank that never learned how to handle money.
NEXT CARD~~PAID/NEVER LATE BALANCE $0 "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER" on our 2 accounts... "THEY" (F.D.I.C.) CLOSED IT...WHEN NEXT CARD WENT BK...
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! kevin, I used BT )5 checks for my Discover Card and Citibank and it show sup all my credit report and I used every card that keep it active.Obviously they don't like it and I apid it all off on all my cards except a few carry balances. By the way, I used my Juniper Bank for ten dollars or less and I'm not profitable customer for them. So they closed my account and there is nothing wrong with my credit.MBNA just upgraded my Quantum Plus Rewards into World Points Quantum. Ron.
Re: Re: Juniper Closed my account!!!!!!!!!! Say what ??? I didn't know that "closed by credit grantor " affects FICO ! Scorpio ========= Ya do now. Here is another bad thing about it. Say you have had an account for 8 years never late , paid as agreed.and they decide to close it tomorrow. It's noted as closed by credit grantor and suddenly your saddled with a ding on your reports for the next 7 Yrs. for having a good 8 yr. positive TL. Now some yahoo creditor and or insurer pulls your reports and jacks your insurance and loans because of the Neg. closed by credit grantor TL. THE END ** *** ** LB 59
