Today Juniper decreased my credit line from 14,000 to 10,000 claiming that I had excess inquiries on their regular account reviews!!! I used them for balance transfers and paid them 1,000 per month. Normally the customer service is nice, but today they talked to me like I was a criminal. It was horrible. I am PFB and BBB as I don't appreciate that.

Doh! That sucks. How many inquiries did you have? Let us know how PFB works out for you.

Oh, jeez those mortgage inquiries are going to come back and bite me. Oh well, if they try reducing it I'm transferring the money back to Amex and closing the account.

    phylism,

I never heard anthing like that. It is a poor excuse to decrease credit limit due to excessive inquiries. My brother got Juniper approved for $6000 from pre-approval mail offer. I have been getting credit ever since 82 and I never heard anything like that. Bank usually decreased credit limit because you're in default. By the way, I applied for the card for two times and I got denied.

"MY CREDIT LIMIT WAS REDUCED $4,000 WITH-OUT MY PERMISSION, RAISE IT BACK TO WHERE YOU FOUND IT OR THE ACCOUNT WILL BE PAID OFF IN FULL IMMEDIALELY AND CLOSED"

    Ron,

They treated you like criminal and closed the account. It is worth your business and that means they don't appreciates your business. Go apply for Citibank and Bank Of America and they are nice to customers. You don't have to put with that kind of abuse.

Other than the Inquiries that they stated, Have you taken on any additional Debt in credit cards which would increase your Debt/ Income and Utilization of your available credit..?
Credit Card Companies do decrease limits on credit cards due to increased debt, recent delinquency, ect.. But If you had it decreased just because of Inquiries, It is wrong.. Good luck

Oh I agree... that is why I reported them to the BBB and sent a PFB letter... I have had credit since 1980 I have MBNA, AMEX, Citibank, and others with no line less than $15,000 .

RubyJean, I have $110,000 in credit (which is not excess considering my income) and I owe balances of 11,000 which are all BT offers. I asked her if my ratios were off or anything and she said no it was strictly related to excess inquiries.
My MBNA with $30,000 line has 0 balance
and my AMEX with a cl of 23,000 has 0 balnce
I only carry a balance with Juniper and one other card. I started my balance with JUniper at 13,900 cause they had the 0 percent APR for 6 months and now owe them 9,500. I pay 1000 per month.

    Phyliss,
I have worked in 180 Day Collections, Risk Detection , and now Credit, I with the information that you have stated.. You are getting a raw deal..
I would call Juniper and basically tell them, like it is, that you really do not need them and that you are not maxed out with Debt,, and that you are transferring your balance.. BUT, I would wait until your 0 % expires,, Even though your line was reduced, you might as well get the benefit of interest free money..

    Best of Luck

I agree. They don't deserve your business. I am sure others are waiting in line to get those transfers. :)
