I posted on here about 2 months ago how Juniper Bank decreased my CL from 14,000 to 10,000 claiming that I had excessive inquiries on my credit report. I PFB them a nasty letter but they didn't change it back.
Well today I logged on to see my balance and it had zero credit available. I called Customer service and was told that my account had been closed because of something on my credit report-the rep couldn't tell me what it was. I have over 125,000 in credit and all my balances come to like 10,000 so I am not overextended.
When I received this account it was for zero percent interest for 6 months. I only used the card for balance transfers -I never once used the card for a regular purchase. I wonder if they shafted me cause they have not made one red penny off me and they use the credit report as a disquise to close the account. When I first got the card I transferred 14,000 and paid them faithfully 1,000 per month?
There is nothing on my credit report that wasn't there when I first got this card. Well I promptly paid off the account tonite with one of my Cit 2.9% checks! Be careful of Juniper Bank!!!

I have also never purchased anything with my Juniper. I only did BT's. So far they haven't tried to lower my CL or close my account but thanks for the heads up. I have 17,000 CL but only owe them 1,500 right now. Sorry to hear this happened to you. I would write them about your situation. As a creditnetter, I'm sure you have copies of your credit reports to reference in your correspondence with them. I think they have a few screwy computer programs kicking out errors like this. When I first applied they pulled in the info from EQ wrong and when a "human" looked at it they saw that what the computer said it had was not right. I'd ask for a human to take a look and make an evaluation.

Well I really don't need/want them, I just hate that I will have a 'closed by credit grantor' on my credit report. I wrote them the first time they reduced my credit line and all they said was sorry, it is interesting though to survey how Juniper treats its customers after the introductory peroid is over. They didn't really start screwing with me until my zero percent finance charge was almost over. Strange.

I think you can back them into a corner if they try to put a "closed by credit grantor" on your profiles. If you have the credit reports I would badger them a bit about this despite the fact that you don't need them. A "closed by credit grantor" is a negative against you and you didn't deserve it, apparently. I've got a card that decided not to renew and so far they haven't reported it closed but if/when they do I will fight them because the day I got the letter about it my EQ score was 747 and never looked better.

    Phyllis,

May be something from your credit report made them to close your account. You got to find out the reason why they closed your account. I got their pre-approval from them last months and now it made me to think twice to apply for the card. By the way, my brother has the card for over four months and they didn't decrease the credit limit or close the account. They lower his rate from 14.99% to 12.99%.

It would be nice if we all had your 'problem.' What do you need all this credit you don't use it anyway.

    Aigle,
The more credit you have that is unused the higher your FICO score. Having a higher FICO gets you better terms for auto loans, mortgages, home improvement loans, etc. To learn more about FICO and the scoring models/ratios used do a search here.
