Hello There, I just talked to customer service and told them that the 20.99% was not acceptable, the rep told me that well is the economy and the rate is going up for everyone across the board.. so that I told the rep that I am looking at your website right now and if I was to apply for a new card it shows a 11.99% var and the default rate is up to 19.74% now I am being charge at 20.99% the rep got really quiet and then tells me well let me see if I see a better rate for you and sure enough the rep said yes I do show a lower rate for you actually is my old rate of 16.99% I ask the rep if there is anything lower the rep saids no not at this time so I got my old rate back is still high but way better than the 20.99% anyways I check on line right after and sure enough back to the 16.99% rate... Thx, Kev
I GUESS IT WAS A GOOD THING THEY DENIED ME!!! MY HIGHEST RATE IS 13.99% AMEX DELTA...AND IT GIVES MILES!!! (not that I pay any interest)
Really? The bad economy has nothing to do with rising credit card rates? Thanks for fixing that tiny problem for us. I'll e mail the Federal Reserve right now and tell them that "GEORGE" has fixed the problems that plague the economy. I'm sure they'll be relieved to know you've got a handle on things.
kevin, My brother got 12.99% fixed with Juniper Bank for his Platinum MC. 16.99% fixed is still to high compared to my BofA Platinum Visas, Citi Dividend Platinum MC (7.99%), and MBNA Elite Rewards Visa (8.99). 16.99% is stiil unacceptable (prime +12.99%). Ron
Hello Ron, Yeah I know 16.99% is still really high and Congrats for you brother on getting 12.99% from them... anyways heard that you got the mini card from bofa is it really cool looking I was thinking of getting one too.. please let me know... anyways I am glad that at least they put it back at 16.99% instead of leaving at the 20.99% which is ridiculuous... anyways I will keep you inform of anymore changes with Juniper... I got the 4% bt and checks from bofa and I am thinking of bt's over to them... I had Juniper for over 2 years now.... oh well Thank You for being my pal online.... Thx, Kev
Kevin, With scores like yours, it's ridiculous for Juniper to reprice your account. A weak economy means more defaults, but also lower interest rates in general. I doubt if Juniper is hurting that much because of the economy. I suspect they're hurting because of their own inability to calculate risk correctly. Which is proven by their trying to reprice your account to compensate for their losses. Common sense would tell them you don't belong to the group that's producing most of their defaults.
Re: Re: Juniper Platinum MC 16.99% Back! You obviously have no idea what is going on in the CC industry right now. You doubt Juniper is hurting? I doubt you understand Juniper's situation.
Re: Re: Juniper Platinum MC 16.99% Back! The "ECONOMY" is a SCAPE GOAT "IF" the "ECONOMY" was a real threat to credit cards...WOULDN'T EVERY SINGLE CREDIT CARD COMPANY BE LOSING THEIR SHIRT???
Re: Re: Juniper Platinum MC 16.99% Back! There are "TONS" of cards under 16.99% that are doing FINE!!! "MY" UPPER LIMIT I AM WILLING TO PAY IS 9.99%... TODAY I AM PAYING NOTHING ABOVE 5.90%... WIFE HAS ONE AT 9.90% THAT IS NEXT TO GO...(just a few $1,000 left)
kevin, I just checked the Juniper Bank websites and they offer 6.9% fixed BT until paid off and 11.99% variable for purchases. Here is the link: https://www.juniper.com/app/japply/lp/TnCs.jsp?prodidreq=CCVPS00797 My brother is thinking to dump the card and he didn't owe anything. I got my Bof A minicard and it is a cool card and I'm going to get the mincover. By the way, I keep my mincard inside the house and I'm afraid that I'm going to lose the card. Kevin, you're one of my good pal on the board and thanks for reply my messages. Ron.
Hello Ron, Yup you are my good pal and Thank You also for replying to my messages... as a matter of fact I did see the mini card at a computer store today someone was paying at the checkout is a mini gold card is really cool looking by the way I purchase a new firewire hard drive today on one of my 4% prime for life checks from bofa... anyways take it easy and talk to you soon again! Thx, Kev
kevin, Be careful with those minicard and Discover2Go card and it is easy to misplaced or lose it. Someone may pick it up and charged to to your card to purchases big items. Firewire is nice and it is fast. I would like to have one of those for my computer. My computer is curently not working properly and I need to borrow money to buy a new one. By the way, I used one of 4% BT from Bank Of America and they don't trick you like some other bank. I hope that you close Juniper Bnak and they're not a good bank. I heard a lot of not so good facts about them from the past. Whether you wanted to close or not, the decision is entirely up to you. Ron.
My Progressive insurance card looks like a mini credit card. It also attaches to my key chain. I am not impressed with miniature cards. Like Ron said, they are easy to misplace or you could make a mistake & hand it to a valet along with your keys if you were in a hurry.
Hello Ron, Yeah I know the mini cards are cool looking but yes is easy to loose and someelse to pickup and use if you should loose it... sorry to hear about your computer hey buy one on one of the 4% checks from bofa what a good deal is that rate until the balance is payoff... which is really cool... I have not decided on what to do about Juniper yet... I don't use them much maybe that is why they treat me this way... oh well anyways you take it easy and talk to you soon again.... Thx, Kev
kevin, I buy Mac on Apple LOC to purchase a computer and then BT 4% BofA checks after a month. That's what I did on my last computer. It saved me a lot of finance charges. Thanks for replying and take care. Ron
