I have noticed alot of people say they just sent in their credit reports and Junum took care of it. I also just signed up with Junum yesterday and was wondering exactly how do they know what you want to dispute and the reason behind it? I mean, if I have a bankruptcy for example and there are accounts on my account that are marked as charge off's, how do they know I want those listed as part of my BK and not charge offs. Or do they just try and get them completely removed. Or even in some cases on my report that the account does not belong to me. How do they know this? Also since I started trying to repair my own credit two weeks before I learned of Junum, will my letters to the bureaus impact what they would do? Do they (Junum) ask me any questions? And if they all of a sudden get removed, how does Junum differenciate between what I did and what they did. Thanks, Misty
First Misty, congrats on joining Junum. Now let me try to answer your questions. Junum is going to dispute with the CRAs as they see fit. I didn't give them any direction as to how I wanted them to dispute....I was using them because I felt they knew more than I did. If you wanted to "suggest" to them, they may take it, but my advice is to let them handle it however they see fit. Also, if you sent in disputes, when you copy your reports, highlight and circle what it is and notate ON THE REPORT for Junum NOT to dispute them until they hear from you. Include a letter with the reports also. Since they scan your reports and have them online, they'll never be able to say that you didn't tell them NOT to dispute whatever. This happened to me and I got the notations removed, so when I send my new reports, I'll include a letter referring to my first letter so they won't charge me for removing that item. There are so many of us that are using Junum and getting results. If you want to know something about them, just ask. Aside from myself, I know roni, Jim, Nave have or are using them. Those are the ones I can think of right now. Good luck...see you in "prime heaven" ~Shantel
If I can remember correctly, Junum disputes neg info according to most recent negative acct and/or severity of impact of the negative accts. I hope that wasn't too confusing.
Thanks for the info everyone. I haven't checked my report in years but since I am trying to buy a house now I thought I would before applying for a loan and I am just baffled by things that are on there and are actually incorrect. I was originally going to try and do it myself, but with all the results I have been seeing on this board I just had to try them out. My score on my Equifax report was a depressingly low 522. Even more frustrating is half of the report is either incorrect or listing accounts I have never even heard of before. Transunion and Experian arent to bad at all, but for some reason Equifax is ripping me to shreads. Thanks again, cant wait to post my results. Misty
Just a side note. I wouldn't mark on the actual reports you send them. I'm not sure if they send a copy of the reports with disputes. But if they do, you wouldn't want your markings on them. I would include a note or something and follow up with a phone call. Kelly
Let Junum pick what to dispute. I went with them because they are the experts not me. However, if there is something you don't want them to dispute - tell them in a letter and follow it up with a telephone call. Good luck.
Oh, OK, They probably don't send copies of reports with disputes then. I'm not a Junum client. Lexington doesn't want you marking on the reports. BTW Shantel, Congrats on your CR deletions. Don't you love seeing those accounts listed as deleted. hehehe Kelly
