Wish me luck! I applied for this card 2 years ago and was denied. I'm applying for it again because my employer now REQUIRES it for our new expense report system.

Anyway, I am making headway in cleaning up my
credit, but I'm hoping an EXP "score" of 639 will make the grade this time.

Since my first application in 3/2001, I have paid off my charged off Amex and Optima card from the early 90s, I now have two revolving lines of credit instead of one (which wasn't even 2 yo at the time) and an installment loan that 2 1/2 yo, with no lates.

I'm worried though because I still have an unpaid judgement from 09/2000 and a paid collection account from early 2001. I disputed the judgement through EXP and its still listed on my report as being investigated and I sent a validaiton letter to the CA regarding the collection on 02/06/03.

Everyone cross their fingers and toes for me. I will post the outcome as soon as I hear something.

if u had a charge off w/ amex.. u would still be in their blacklist. if you had paid the charge offs, i would call amex and ask them to remove u from the black list.. i've heard people have luck with this after 1 year..

Why would they be pulling your credit report for a corporate card. Your employer is responsible, aren't they?

I got a corporate card a few months ago, and I have judgement, repos, all that good stuff.

American Express just pulled a soft inquiry to make sure my name and adress were right.

It depends on how your employer set up the account. I have read threads on here where people were just given an Amex card, no questions asked. Ours requires that you fill out a short application and sign the agreement that says that a credit report will be pulled and the cardholder is responsible for all charges incurred.

Based on an earlier post, I called Amex Corp Card and explained the situation to the CSR. He said that they will look at accounts that you had with AMEX, but their decision is based heavily on the credit report. My application was submitted to my company's AMEX Program Administrator yesterday, so it will probably be a few days before Amex gets it.

They're probably going to do a hard pull from EXP (based on my last app), but I'm wondering if they will use the EXP score of 639, which I heard no one uses or something more like FICO where I have a 664. Thoughts?

I had an AMEX Corp card... what a damn mistake that was. They gave it to me without pulling my credit (obviously, or else I wouldnt have gotten it)... My employer went bankrupt and didnt pay the bill - now AMEX is after me for it - they can KMA. I just called EXP and the guy said it was 'electronically' verified the first time and now.... he is gonna request additional information on it from AMEX. (but he did delete 15 addresses that AMEX keeps putting on my CR - all used to belong to my former employer).

FYI - they only report the account to the credit bureaus if they are late or in default. As long as the account is paid as due, they never report it. If you are looking for it to be a 'good' account and help your credit, it won't.

LD, what was the outcome of your app? I've got a similar situation and approx. same score. Thanks!
