HOW DO I DISPUTE I HAVE 30DAYS TO DIPUTE THIS AMOUNT, BEFORE IT THEY VALIDATED AS MINE, SHOULD I MAKE PAYMENT PLAN WITH THEM, OR SHOULD I DISPUTED, IF THEY VALIDATED IT AS MINE DO THEY STILL SEND IT TO EX,TU, EQ??
Presumably they included in their letter that unless you disputed the debt within 30 days, they would assume that it is valid. The complete details of what must be in that notice is in the FDCPA. See: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm What did they do to "validate" it, just say "yes, it's yours", or obtain validation information from the original creditor in response to your written request for such information and send it to you? Did they provide the name of the original creditor, original account number, date of original delinquency and last payment, and an accounting for how the amount in collection was arrived at, sufficient for you to be sure it is actually your debt, and that the amount due is correct? Do you believe the account was opened by you and is actually yours? Do you believe the amount being collected is actually correct and due under the original contract? Do you have sufficient information to know?
just sent a validation letter to them, we see the outcome, if it is an old debt, ill make payment arraingement with them, stating that they will NOT put on c.r.a. as collection account, thanks for your help!!!
