5000 limit, 0% for 6 months, 13.9 after (OUCH!) 7.99% for BT. I tried doing what many people have done and called the customer service line (1-888-BLUE-741) and spoke with some guy about upping my credit line and (possibly) lowering my APR. He didn't quite understand what I was asking and put me on hold for a little bit of time. At first he said I would have to wait 6 months for requesting a bigger credit line. I told him that I've seen people get bigger credit limits when activating and he then proceeded to put me on hold. He came back and said to call new accounts AFTER 30 days and they can look at it then. Bull! Anyone have some advice for me? Do I really need to wait? (I am a patient person...) or do you have another number I should call? I don't think my card is fully activated yet as I got frustrated with him and said goodbye before we confirmed that. According to Amex (like you're going to believe them) the rate of 7.99 is only available on the regular Blue - 8.98 is the lowest for Blue Cash which I supposed makes some sense - I applied online late on a Monday and received an approval message - the card arrived the following Monday. Neil
I HAVE "REGULAR" BLUE AT 8.99% They keep on REFUSING 7.99% like it DOES NOT EXIST!!! A couple of times they said APPLY FOR IT...YOU MAY GET THE 7.99% CARD!!!
I got blue cash upped from $5K to $9k because that was my highest tradeline they wil not up you above $5k if u do not have a bigger tl They gave me a 10.99 rate by the way 700 EQ
jpartdq, You need to call new accounts directly, not customer service to get the results (within first 30 days of applying).

Their claim about matching "higest trade lines" is a crock of crap as well - when I recently applied for the Blue my highest existing limit was $10K and they approved $20K on-line.

As it was explined to me Amex can do a CLI to match your highest CL of any other major cc that is listed on your CR. At the time I called, Blue was my higest by 4k. Of course George should be getting a 30k limit to match his MBNA CL. Best regards, Mirage
Re: Re: Just got my Amex Blue... FINALLY!!!! I spoke with a nice lady named Pam who offered to at least review my application, the other 2 CSRs wouldn't even do that. She upped it by 1000 so now I have 6000.... I wanted 10k but hey, another thousand will work. I'm having surgery next month and wanted to put at least 5500 on my Amex card so I have no interest for 6 months while I pay that down. The first 5000 limit just wouldn't have cut it!
