It may sound corny - but I just changed my Nextcard picturecard for $9.95. I ordered a card that has our American Flag fully covering the left 3/4 of the card - then the Nextcard logo on top right and Visa logo below. Hey - I am proud to display that flag. My large 4 x 6 REAL flag has been flying over San Francisco for a while. It hasn't come off my deck ever since I put it up. Now, I'll feel like I'm just doing some else for myself to show my respect. Its very hot in San Francisco tonight - maybe 80. The city - and the world for that fact - have an eerie serenity. I applaud your patriotism. The card sounds beautiful. I am upset tonight that the 2 schools my older kids attend (some are homeschooled) did not say the Pledge of Allegiance at 2:00 today like the president asked.

I had always tried to get my kids to understand that people died so we could be free. Now it is real to all of us, not just a history lesson. The same for the pledge.
I did that too dogman and i got the $9.95 back as a courtesy..Only because when i opened account 5 months ago i could got one for free..But there server messed and when i ordered this one i bitched
I applied yesterday with Nextcard. They pulled EFX with 648 FICO (after the inquiry) and TU with a 665 score. I expected a regular card at least. They only offered me the secured POS. Geez. They lost my future business for sure because their cards and policies are not good enough when my scores break the 700s. It is sad when you have no derogs listed with two CRAs and your score is still not good enough to get a classic card with some companies...thanks FICO. I guess I should go back on the wagon again :-(
If you have a Discover and want to show your colors, get the flag card (IT'S FREE). It's beautiful (the rate isn't, but still looks pretty in your wallet)! -mj
I see Nextcard is advertising a subprime UNSECURED card for damaged credit on this site. I wasn't even offered that one! I am not even good enough for Nextcard subprime? Now I really feel bad.........
Hi MikeB Hope you are enjoying that place. We're all proud of you and happy for you and yours. I THINK the only way I got the unsecured was that maybe they did not offer the secured at the time I got mine LOL! I think it was Momof3 that had a friend that just got a huge new home, or a high line of prime credit - and they offered some low secured line to her also! MikeB - I really believe it is not you - or this friend of Mom's credit. There have been lots of discussions on this board - that NEXTCARD is having cash problems. That's the reason they are trying to collect these deposits. They need operating cash flow. They got hit with the dot.com layovers. They started as the internet card with super prime rates and acceptance. Gave huge limits, took all the balance transfers they could. Now, the economy is kicked to the curb and lots of NEXTCARD holders can't pay it back other than minimum. Later - Dogman

George. Just a thought. But if your wife's portfolio is taken with that much credit at 18.99... and she's not going to use it at that rate (understandable) then why not cancel it... free up that amount of credit that could be available to her... and apply for a better prime card with a much lower rate. by the way, I have 15.99 ( up from 12.99) and I have mid 600 scores with a recent bk. that's how intelligent Nextcard is. DAMN IT ..... RENO, NEVADA FBI CONFIRMED ANTHRAX..great...now there is definite proof anthrax is within 210 miles from san francisco. Still waiting for Providian confirmation. San Francisco is on very very high alert. I drove 10 miles on the freeway today and there were 8 CHP officers, along the road, at the exits, etc. In the SF BAY, aside from the Coast Guard and the submarines - and the banishment of any fishing boats in areas near the bridges - even the National Parks Department and Fish and Wildlife Preserve agents are on alert and cruising all around the waterways. The City is still extraordinarily hot tonight. 80! The humidity is about 10% with no chances of rain anytime soon. It is unusually clear - tonight one notices a very few airplanes in and out of the airports. Looking down over one of the bar districts, one senses a serious attitude. Few people are out - unusual with this temperature. The sea lions are still barking on Pier 39. There are, however, just a very FEW tourists in this town to see them. San Francisco vacancy rates are 70%. The tourism industry has layed off hundreds - airline industry thousands - Silicon Valley - hundreds of thousands. People don't want to spend their money. They want cash with them in case networks go down. IT DOES NOT MATTER if a person has a BLACK AMEX - if the networks don't work. Smart people are keeping some amount of CASH in their homes. It makes definite sense, particularly in the largest urban areas. My NY friend said, "Dogman, if I can advise you of one thing since you live in SF - a large city! Be prepared, have CASH, an emergency kit, and - BE PREPARED TO WALK OUT OF SAN FRANCISCO ON FOOT! PLAN THAT YOUR ACCESS WILL BE BLOCKED BY VEHICLE.
