Hi people, Thanks to the info I've received from this board, I have had seven negative items deleted, and 3 items updated to "never late". I'm on a roll.. thanks you guys! Ok, I just sent 2 goodwill letters, and a nutcase letter today. I faxed the goodwill letters and mailed (return receipt) the nutcase letter. Hoping to get replies soon. Question is, I have a charge off on my report that I only disputed with experian (not with the other two). I disputed it as never late, and experian deleted the lates and no longer showing as charge off (*yay*). I'm thinking of disputing it with the other two bureaus. Should I wait till after I get the response for the goodwill/nutcase letters, or should I go ahead and dispute this one now? I'm not sure how far apart I should keep credit disputes. Thanks a lot in advance!
wow rackt3, good job! congrats. How did you get the 3 negs to show as never late? All three with goodwill letters? Sorry I would wait for the experts to answer your question. dadbobo, 1. Please search for the 'goodwill letter' or 'nutcase series' etc. on the board and you will find tons of valuable information in many threads. 2. Also, checkout the following: - Library tab - Unofficial CreditNet board FAQ's under CreditNet forum - Sample letters forum under the discussions tab.
Actually, these were lates that were on closed accounts and were each at least 2 years old. I read somewhere here that you have a better chance that a creditor may be unable to verify lates if it's so long ago, and the account has been closed long ago. Basically, they have no interest in it anymore. So I disputed them as "never late" and sure enough, the late payments were deleted. The two I sent the goodwill letters for are ones that are still open, and there's a good chance they'll be verified if I disputed with the CRAs. Thought I might as well try the goodwill letters first.
ok some beasic questions... 1) where did you get your reports? how much? 2) What letter format did you use? (any from this board) 3) did you send all of your mail certified? 4) Where did you generally send your letters? Collecting agency or Credit Reporting Agency I am on the verge of starting this war on my bad credit so any advice would be SUPER appreciated.. thanks
1. reports are free. just tell CRA u are unemployeed. you are also alotted 1 free report a year. 2. The form letters are posted on main board. be sure and add your own flavor to them. 3. always send CRRR for your paper trail. u can dispute by phone once u receive your reports. u wont have a paper trail though 4. shoot for CRA first. then validate with CA
