You probably shouldn't post specifics like this here, especially agencies and exact dollar amounts. There have been instances where members of these agencies have been reported to be lurking here, and things from here being used against people. Immediate advice would be to go back to your post and use the "edit" function, and take out anything which could be used against you. I would imagine that your first step should be to send a letter to each of these, demanding validation. I'm personally dealing with one of the agencies on your list....contact me privately and I can give you more feedback, including the name of a person you can write to at the agency.
Change Done. Is that enough? So do I send the letter to the original company or the collection agency? Can they still collect in another state? How do I contact you by email? Thanks! JMA
That should do it. If you're going to go to battle with them, best to not let them know what's coming! One of the steps which can affect how you would proceed, is to find out if the debt has been purchased. That's one of the items which I've seen in some of the sample letters which are available on this board....demanding evidence that they are licenced to do business in that state. You should be able to click on my name at the top of this post, and see an option to send mail....
