I am new to all of this and I think am in love with all of you!!! lol. I really want to start working on cleaning stupid mistakes made by me and my dh. We were considering BK but were told we made to much $ and I would have to quit working for a few months, so that was a no go, I can barely pay the basic bills now. Actually, we were so horrible with $ that we are having a lot taken out from garnishments, there seems to be no end! So I thought we would be in financial hell FOREVER until I stumbled across there boards and all you wonderful people. Now I see that with hard work we can work on seeing the light of day. The biggest thing we have are student loans which I am working with direct loans to consolidate both of ours. The monthly payments on those will be the same amount that they are currently garnishing my DH check for. And medical bills from the ER that have gone on to collections.(I have a daredevil for a son as well as 3 other accident prone children, they get it from me). I have read about medical bills and hippa but I don't quite understand it all. I can't afford to send them lump sums. So what should I do? I don't want to not pay all these bills but I would like to clear some of it up and maybe make arrangement where I don't have to send in vast amounts at once. Some of them were never submitted to insurance but I have been told Oh Well to late! Unfortunately, I have very minimal records due to a flood, so it is hard to trace back things. Any advice will be gratefully accepted. Thank you all for giving me hope.
