If I dispute something on my one of my bureaus, and they re-report it at a later date, then does this mean that the 7 year period or (SOL) has now been reset? Are they required to back date an old insertion? Any Ideas??? Hmmm, very interesting... Ok, I'll answer this to the best of my limited experience: No, they cannot reset the 7 year reporting period - it is 7 years from the date of the last account activity. I believe SOL is another issue alltogether, and it varies from state to state. The SOL refers to the length of time a collector can pursue a bad debt based on teh date of default. Again, reinsertion can't reset the SOL clock. The bureaus are required to notify you in writing within 5 days of reinserting a previously deleted tradeline. Someone just posted about this recently - you might want to do a search on reinsertion for more info. Good luck Poochie
Thanks Poochie, good advice. Do you happen to know what course of action I could take? Sometimes I think it would be much better to just go into a coma for 7 years....... Hoping to hibernate, SnakeMan
