Just a warning: I have a Kays credit card. I was approved with a $4000 balance (wanted to use it for utilization) but it shows up as $0 balance/$0 limit. Haven't bought anything yet but it looks like it acts like Cap One (Firestone's credit card does the same thing).

But wouldn't this be a good thing if you are trying to re-establish credit? Then she wouldn't actually have to buy anything from the store, but pay the 4 dollars a month. Right? Wouldn't that be good utilization?

You CAN'T add $4.00 per month on NO PURCHASE!!!

You CAN'T add credit insurance WITH-OUT PERMISSION OF THE CUSTOMER

Correct, no $4.00 fee per month for insurance if you have no balance, HOWEVER, they FAIL to tell you that the insurance is automatically added and it is on your statement, so you must then take care of it thru corporate if you don't want it, IMO it is a tactic to get more money, which is where I was told to call and did, then returned the purchase anyway. Turned out to be a good thing to do as I found here, since it showed payment history and a credit limit.......

When Jared approved me they gave me 7000 to spent that day, but my credit line was 5000. I went to kay the same & got 5000, but did not realizing it was the same company so I got a total of 5k for both.

I'm in Il & they pulled Tu. BTW Jewelery credit is the easiest. & are instant credit most of the time.

You can use the cc at J.B Robertsons

I don't know where Sterling is. Just knew from Kona's post that he said Kay Jewelers and LeRoy's were both divisions of Sterling. So I knew that's what it was when I saw it.

It's better to go in store and apply, you will get a instant approval. I applied on line and was denied, because I didn't put my correct employee's contact number. Therefore, they weren't able to verify income. It took 7 days. I then went in the store with the correct inf.and was instantly approved for 4300. Yes they had to pull another inq., but what the hell.

This is strange, since very rarely do they verify income.
