I'm writing a demand letter to a CA, and I checked out your intent to sue that you wrote to Collectech. One of the conditions that you put was a settlement in the amount of $3000. I was wondering if that worked for you? I don't really WANT to sue, I just want deletion. I'm wondering if putting the settlement as a demand is really going to work for me, or if I'd be better off putting it as an either or kind of thing. Just wondering how it worked.

    TIA

    Tracy-
I sent them the letter and then disputed with the CRA's after 30 days it was deleted from all 3 CRA's so I didn't feel the need to push on for the $3K. Although Doc mentioned going after them seeing as the deletion would basically PROVE they were wrong, but first I need to find a job, it's getting scary being unemployed for so long.

Thanks. I think I'm going to leave it in there, just to see what happens. It's only a crappy $68 debt, but I'm considering this a practice for the last CA we have to deal with. It's a $566 debt. Doesn't sound like much, but a $5 debt is a lot right now! LOL I'm sure you can relate! I have an interview tomorrow, so I may be back to work sooner than I thought!

Anyway, thanks for getting back to me so quick. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm sending it out tomorrow!
