My small claims suit was changed to the 16th of Oct today. It was supposed to be this Thursday. The whole deal really just TICKS me off. The reason my scum ball x landlord gave was that he has a planned business trip.....I had to buy an airline ticket, fly to NC, get a hotel, change my PTC date, get childcare, turn down a client and get a hotel room to go to court. I cannot believe that the magistrate allowed him to do this. He was served on the 9th of Sept and requested the date be changed on the 18th. I called the current tenant in hopes that he would help me. BOY AM I PLEASED! He faxed me a letter stating that he moved in immediately after I left and the house was in perfect condition. He even added that Eddie told him that the house has never been that clean. He also informed me that the landlord came to his house and told him that I was suing him and he was going to ask for a continuance so the "little Yankee will bail." He offered to video tape him if I would like as he sits outside nightly (he lives next door). I wonder if this will help me or if they will allow me to use it? He too is now having problems with this guy. I am glad that I called now! I think that he has a crush on me but hell, I don't care. I got what I wanted and I will never have to run into him..LOL Not to mention I am married. LOL I just HAVE to wonder if the magistrate knows my landlord. I cannot imagine him allowing a continuance to someone that waited 9 days after he was served, knowing that I am coming from 650 miles away.....
Shame on you for playing with this young man's tender feelings of love, I mean crush for you. LOL!!!!!!! Seriously, that sucked what happened with the change of dates. I hope you can get everything straightened out.... Good luck.........
LOL...Hey thanks. A girls gotta do what she has to do. You poor men....we laugh at your silly jokes and talk nice and you melt...HMMM I wonder if that will work in court. LOL
(giggle) Just keep accurate records of ALL your expenses. You may need an affidavit from the new tennant. I'm not sure if a fax will do the trick but I do know that a properly formulated affidavit is as good as court room testimony. Affidavit of new tennant. Under penalty of perjury. Notarized. All that jazz. Good luck keep us posted.
Hehe see you just imagining how cute I was got you to respond...~ Thanks Butch. As usual, your advice is golden.
