Looking at the new Equifax CreditWatch screen, I noticed several 30, 60, and 90-day lates on several of my student loans are being reported but stae "dates unknown". I thought this wasn't allowed? Unless they can at least verfiy the month and year of the late payment, does it not have to be deleted?
I am having the same problem with one of my accounts. I'd like to think that they can't do this, but I've disputed with the CRA and original creditor and they refuse to delete. Calling the experts -- any suggestions?
Dispute on the basis that its not complete and accurate reporting. I wonder how that affects scoring? The older the lates the less they hurt, but how are they treated in this case?
If they don't know when it was late, how will they know when it is time to delete(7 yrs are up)?? I have an unknown date that just popped up on one of my EQ. I thought it would be easy to dispute and have removed (imagine...I thought it was a no brainer).
