I started researching these guys after a post by Psychdoc on credit repair firms. I know they were investigated by the feds and it is now settled. Anyone out there have any experience with Jack Schrold that they could share? I ran a search on this board and there was nothing concrete about them. It was all mostly about the fed investigation. I spoke with a man at Schrold's office that sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I quizzed him until I couldn't think of anything else to throw at him. He passed my test. Thoughts? Lisa
I signed up with them about a month ago. They said it takes about a month to get started. They have always responded quickly to my e-mails. I'llg ive them a few months and then evaluate.
I figure that I'll still keep up with doing what I can with the time I have. I've been very lucky with "goodwill letters" lately so I'll forward them to the CRA's. I'm going to let Jack's office attempt to handle an almost foreclosure on the house. It never foreclosed but the payments are listed something like 5 60-day lates and something ungodly like 13 90-day lates.
I spoke with another Partner there named Ray. Someone on this board and compared them to "hard core collectors." After talking to Ray, I would have to agree. He really knew his stuff, was 100% no nonsense, and works around the clock. I have a CH13, not yet discharged, on my reports. I have managed to get about 60% of the "Included in BK" accounts deleted myself. That remaining 40% of "included in bk" and the CH 13 itself would be what they would work on. Ray said "no problem--we delete CH13's that are less than a year old every day." I only bring this up because I have contacted both Lexington and Junum who both said they wouldn't even take me as a client until 6 months after the CH13 was discharged. In my case, that is another almost 2 years. I hear people talk about Lexington and Junum, but I have heard very little about Jack Schrold. I did a search on this board and came up with very little other than the fact they had been investigated.
THe investigation on Schrold's office concerned when he charged people for his services. His services have never been a question to be investigated. I've heard that his office has been around for quite some time and he has a reputation for being a real pain in the a** to the CRA's. I figure a few months at 49.95 isn't too bad. If he can get rid of my one big negative, it'll easily be worth a year of his costs. SOme may disagree with me but time is money. I don't have alot of time, so I pay a little money for someone who has the time.
I feel exactly the same way. When I look back on the time I have in this journey, I am absolutely amazed. I have had some good luck and lots and lots of great advice and guidance from this board. I am starting to feel that I have pushed it as far as I alone can. I have a 2 year old that needs the time I would have devoted to those items!
