looking over the ammendments to the FCRA I see that consumers now have a right to disclosure of their credit scores.

but was pondering is there any laws pertaining to how the scoring came to be and what rights a consumer might have to dispute a score??

I had a paid col acct recently deleted off my CR , however my score did not reflect this change I was told by the CRA it was automatic.

a bit confussing does anyone have any input to add 2 this?

that is a very good question about scores...who regulates the calculation of them? no one does!

i don't think length of credit history or inquiries should matter in score calculation.

question is is there ANY laws that allow a consumer to dispute their scores?

    or regulate the scoring factors?

I have a similar story. Have been working on getting negs deleted from DH report..
He had a mortgage reporting as currently 120 days late and $8000 past due. I had it fixed to accurately show as being paid in full 11 months ago.

He also had a paid judgement ( just on Equifax)
    Had that deleted.

Both of these were just on Equifax.. had both fixed or deleted.............THE SCORE DID NOT GO UP A SINGLE POINT!!
These are two MAJOR derogatories fixed... and not a single point up..
How can that be? He called Equifax about it.. they say that they dont know.. cant understand it either... and they dont make the scores,, only report the info..
SO, WHO CAN WE GO TO for answers ??

I believe that Jam had mentioned in a thread that the FTC was taking consumer letters in regards to credit scoring.

and how it effects consumers, the FTC is planning to utilize that info to change the current system.

I suggest writing the FTC and advise them of your situation . this may pave the way for all of us :)
