About 2 years ago I was served papers for a lawsuit from a company representing 2 CC companies. 1 was for $3800 and 1 was for $1900. Well I immediatly called the firm and they mad an agreement to drop the suit and I will pay them. well over the first year I paid off the $3800 balance ..I paid about $300 of the other one. I haven't made a payment in over 6-7 months and completely forgot them. I have received no letter from them but I looked at my EX report and they made an Inq back in May.. None of this stuff is on my credit reports ...Should I resume making payments and contact them or just wait and see. Remember there not adverse to suing. But I obviously don't want to pay if I don't have to and don't want any of this showing up on my Credit reports.

    To quote Yamamoto:

I fear we have awakened a sleeping Giant that will one day crush us.

If they ain't pressing it, why should you?

Im just in fear that they might sue me again ...the did it once ...and I don't know how receptive they would be to cancelling it this time.

you owe the money - pay it!

your best bet would be to just offer settlement on the balance in exchange for the debt to never appear on your credit reports.

Leave it alone. If they come after you, they'll take a settlement.

In fact, put some money aside so that if they come after you again, you can offer a lump sum payment. Why would they spend money going to court if you can give them a lump sum?
