I need the name / phone number of a good lawyer in Houston. Part of what I mean by â??goodâ? is someone who will listen. For those that remember my last problem, I finally got Bank One to take the payment after trying for over a week. In the meantime I contacted a BK lawyer to confirm what my BK lawyer had told me when we filed. Initially the new lawyer told me that I did have a contract even though we did not reaffirm the lease. When I told him my lawyer had told me we would not have a contract he changed his mind and agreed with my lawyer. I received a bill from Bank One on Saturday (why does this type of thing always arrive over the weekend? ) for my Dec. lease payment. Total of just over 1K I owe for Dec. The lease payment plus personal property tax (? â?? never paid that before on a lease. Is that right?) plus miscellaneous charges. No explanation of what these charges are. I cannot get the only person allowed to talk to me about this account to return my phone calls. I am thinking of trying to just turn in the car but I want to discuss it with a lawyer who is ready to be retained to protect my interests. I am getting too much conflicting / unsure opinions from the BK attorneys and would like someone who is going to protect me and not treat me like I am some dumb little girl. I am looking for someone who knows consumer law and can tell me for sure if I owe for the miles over the lease agreement. I want someone who understands that this is stressful and has some patience. The last lawyer told me to go buy a car that day and return the un-reaffirmed vehicle. I wish it were that easy.
