After losing a small claims action for an old credit card balance, I know the law firm can freeze your personal bank accounts and take your money to settle the claim, but can they seize the money in your business checking account if your self-employed??? I lost $3,000 in the court action. Also, I just started an online business and have a new business checking account. Can they go after this money? I'm affraid to put anything more than just a few bucks in the account in case they attach it. They also have a lien on my car and I'd like to get a newer car. If I register my new car under my company name, would that protect if from also having a lien put on it? I live in Michigan.
