O.K...Let me have it. I've read time and time again, ALWAYS use CMRRR. Well today I have learned exactly why. I was playing the part of the uninformed consumer and just sent 2 validation requests in response to 2 initial CA demand for payment letters, within the first 30 days. I sent them last Friday, regular postal mail. Figured thry would have them by now. Today I get one phone call from RMA, and I get a letter from the 2nd. with a payment plan option. I have learned my lesson, so does anyone have any advice on what to do now? Should I send each CA another initial demand for validation CMRRR.? Anybody else NOT use CMRRR and have any sucess. It's just CMRRR is a little pricey for me on a tight budget, but I could squeeze it in.
Use it..Its easier to say hey on 3/25 you signed for my validation letter and on 3/30 you sent a collection letter..lets talk about a deletion.
Don't take this the wrong way but 4 or 5 bucks is not going to kill you if repairing your credit is important to you. Cut out a trip to McDonald's and you got it paid for.
In reality the CMRRR has very little to do with it under normal circumstances. Its sort of nice to know exactly when they got it and that's about it. The true purpose and need for CMRRR is in the event you sue them then you have a paper trail that you can prove that you sent it. It is mainly for court purposes and that is it. For your problem whether or not you sent is CMRRR has nothng at all to do with the situation. In all probability the only way that they may have broken any laws is in the event that your demand for validation reached them within the first 30 days after their initial contact with you. No, I don't recommend that and there should be no necessity for that. I would be most surprised if you find any but who knows. Stranger things have happend. I suppose it depends on what one defines as being success.
