The first two tools you will need it Firefox and Thunderbird. If you use multiple emails Thunderbird will aggregate (integrate) them all so you don't have to go check into each one to pick up your emails. That's a big saving in time if you have several email addresses.

Set up your emails first then look in the left column for NEWS AND BLOGS. Click on that and then click on MANAGE and a small window will open up where you can enter each new feed as you find it. Each time you enter a new feed export your feeds to a .opml file. Name it whatever you want so you can find it when you need it. If if all possible you should save your opml file to a separate hard drive. You can buy terrabyte hard drives now for about $100 or less. You can also save all your important emails to the external hard drive and if your computer goes down you can simply import your RSS feeds back into Thunderbird and you won't have to set it all up again.

Then, once you have a few feeds that you want to follow you can go to suggestrss.com and set up an account there, upload your opml file and suggestrss will email you a notice each time it finds a new rss feed that you don't have and in which it thinks you might be interested in adding to your collection.

If you like one of their suggestions simply add the feed into Thunderbird, export your file again, upload it to suggestrss again and let them do the hunting for you. It is a real time saver. It won't be long before you have a set of feeds tailored to whatever interests you and you will be keeping up with the latest news from all over the web. Its the only way to go with the information overload society we live in today. And its all for free.
