I broke a lease in 1996, June of 1996, as a matter of fact, the apartment management company sent me a letter saying the Statuate Of Limitations doesnt run out until 2007, thats 12 years, I was never taken to court, I thought a contract of this type has A SOL of 3 years, how can he legally collect for 12? A judgement was NEVER passed, as I was never sued. Is this an idle threat to get some money from me? He said I signed the lease under "seal" and because so, it's valid for 12 years....please help......he wants 4000 from me....
