Got another question. I graduated from college last year, so I have a fairly short credit history. I'm getting married in about a year, and we're planning on buying a house around that time, so I'm trying to improve my credit. I already posted one thread about clearing invalid entries in my credit file. That one is still in the works. Thanks for everyone's help on that.

My next question is: What should I do with 2 old credit cards that I never use anymore? Should I have them cancelled, so they show as cancelled by consumer on my report, or should I just leave them active? Which would be best for my credit rating?

Like I said, I'm fairly young, so I don't have much credit history. My credit report only has my car lease, these 2 credit cards that I'm thinking about cancelling, my student loan, and the one credit card that I still use. Everything is in good standing.

So what should I do about these cards?

Should I be worried about not having enough credit history for buying a house in a year or so? I haven't been able to find much information on that.

    Thanks again,
    Kevin

I'd keep them open... they'll help with your average age of accounts and with your debt/limit ratios......
