How can I find out if a collection agency is licensed to collect in my state?
    I am in Texas.

Check with the Texas Secretary of State's Office.

Texas does not require a license, only a bond.

I checked the NJ AG's office website and under licensing boards it lists occupations but nothing seems to come close to debt collection-any ideas on what occupation I would find a licensed debt collector in NJ? Thanks :)
