My Length of credit history 6 years, 8 months.

Meaning in 4 months I will hit the magic 7 year mark.

My oldest account is from BOA. It's a negative item.

It's listed in all 3 reports as the oldest entry. from 10/96.

    Experian

BANK OF AMERICA (Secured Credit Card)
Status:paid/Account charged off. $77 written off.
Status Details: This account is scheduled to continue on record until 8-2004.This item was verified and updated on 5-2003.

    TransUnion

    Payment after charge off/collection

    Equifax

    CHARGE-OFF

I was thinking about sending a nutcase (validation) and try to get this thing deleted. But If I get this one deleted my credit history will be 7 months shorter. Meaning I will have to wait another 11 monts to hit the 7 year mark.

Should I get this deleted or keep it? any ideas?

I got 2 of my oldest paid chargeoffs deleted. went from 8 years. (WHich i mite add when i went from 7-11 to 8 years i gained 16 points). to 4years lost 30 points.

The chargeoffs werent effecting my score at all, they were helping it with the credit history. Was at 686, now im at 639.
