    Hi,

My ex has received the letter from Discover that If he doesn't pay Discover within 10 days, Discover will send the case to their attorney and file the judgement against him.

He stopped paying Discover since Jan 2001. I know he doesn't have money to pay them right now. He owes Discover about 6000 Principle and now it's about 7900.

He's working part-time with minimum wage.

What is the best way to deal with this situation?

    Thanks in advance.

Has he talked to Discover at all? I have heard horror stories about Discover's meanness from the past, but in the last few months, I have heard that they were willing to work with people.

What state is your ex in? There may be some laws that would help.

I don't know, LK. Discover has been known to do it just for spite.

Thanks for your input. My Ex is in CA. He has never talked to Discover. He has never picked the phone since the account was charge off.

And now he's so scared he will have to go Court.

Well, he should call them and tell them he doesn't have any money. I don't know if they would back off. They can garnish in CA, but I don't know the rules about it. You can find them on lawdog.com - look for CA then judgments.
