I recieved a letter from TU today telling me they would not investigate my dispute because it came from a credit repair company. I had used Lexington Law in the past, but now I am doing it on my own--yet I get this! Can they do this???
I have seen a number of posts with this same question. The general thought is that they send those out randomly. Like you, I had used Lex over a year ago. I got the same letter last month. When I was using Lex, I never got anything like that from TU. Ignore it and keep fighting them!
Did they refuse to investigate, or did you get a letter that basically said if you are, please fill out the form. If they refused, I believe there is a letter in the sample letter forum that covers this.
I sent an email to trans union requesting that they look at 11 negative items on my credit report. 10 of them were paid in full 4 months ago and the other I am contesting because they would not settle with me. I received a letter from them the other day showing that they have deleted all 11 from my accounts. I am now going to send the same letter to the other credit bureaus. I cannot find an email address for experiden and equifax, if anyone has one please let me know. Cliff
jlynn---yes they refused to investigate, I can't believe they would make an assumption like that with no proof what so ever. I did send that letter off today CMRR.
Keep them on the 30 day timeline from the FIRST dispute letter. It will be a battle, but they have left the door wide open to get the corrections/deletions you want.
