I have seen quite a few qestions about these people. I'll tell you of my experiance with them. They spent 18 months trying to clean up my reports. Yes, this is a long time. They only dispute with the CRA's not the CA's. They will if you pay addtional fees. They charge 35.00 a month. If you want to upgrade to the "new" plan it's an addtional 400.00 and 75.00 a month. Needless to say, I didn't sign up for the "new" plan. They did manage to remove items, I don't know how. But these items have all returned in duplicate. After hanging out on the board I know I can fix this. I did ask them one question: I received an offer from Cap 1. They would remove any negative from my husbands account if he signed a new agreement and they would give us a 400.00 line of credit and are obligated to them for 8,000.00. I asked Lexington if this was a good deal. They told me to go for it. The SOL had run out. So I did it. It's OK, live and learn. Which I have been doing a lot of this past month reading all the wonderful posts on this board. I hope this answers some of your questions about Lexington. I will never again go that route. I am more than capable of repairing my own credit! I have learned that much from you good people.!
Interesting. That Cap 1 offer you speak of seems to come as the SOL is about up. I recieved one recently from Goof States. (Oops! I mean Gulf States.) I read on another consumer advacate board that they wanted people who recieved such offers to contact them as they may have the basis for a class action suit. I emailed them and am waiting for a response. Read the fine print. It wasn't from Cap 1 it was from the collection agency. It has the disclaimer saying "this is an attempt to collect...." Sure was tempting though....
Nope, mine came directly from Cap 1. It's working out. I'm just mad that I fell for the scam. It won't happen again! Now I would just let the SOL take over and go from there.
