Limited Time offers at Citi

There is a tab at the citicards site for Limited Time Offers. I have the Plat select card that is approx 2.5 months old. When I clicked on the tab it said I was eligible for a 3.99% APR for new purchases only (NO BT) for 6 months, offer expires in Feb or beginning of March, can't recall exactly right now.

I found it a tad strange that that this is being given on a card that is not even close to the 6 month mark.

Does anyone know if they pull a hard INQ with these 'special offers' and how often Citi gives them out.
I can't find anything in the Terms and Conditions that implies a hard would be pulled but I don't want to overlook anything.

This card has seen little usage because of the intro offers on my other cards so... perhaps that is why they are tossing a bone?

I don't have any limited time offers. I don't think I've ever seen any on my account. I'm getting ready to BT my entire Citi account (which is currently BTs from elsewhere) to my FirstUSA card. Maybe I'll see something then.

do the BT, then wait a few months and PFB citi asking for a "LIFE" BT rate.

i got 2.9% for life which is not bad. (no fees)

That's what I was hoping. My current with Citi is 5.9%. I'm going to FirstUSA at 3.9% for life of BT. But I don't really want to keep it there--that's a mileage card.

I was hoping that if I paid off Citi and used it for purchases for a few months, they'd offer me a 2.9 or 1.9 for life, then I'd pay it off and BT everything back.

Do you think I'll have to use PFB or do you think they'll just make the offer?

Hedwig, how long have you been with Citi?
I'm surprised they gave me that APR offer so soon.
Usually when I click on that tab, nothing happens.

Interesting. I accepted the 3.99% APR offer which will expire 8/31 and ANOTHER offer appears that offers BT at prime rate.

It seems that they want post holiday business.

NO HARD FOR BT'S (for most of the credit cards out there).
    THE CREDIT LIMIT ALREADY EXISTS!!!
NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR A HARD.
