The Consumerist has a story about a Florida couple who brought the Sheriff's deputies to a Bank of America branch. They did this to seize assets to collect a debt that BoA allegedly owed the couple: Homeowners Bring Sheriff's Deputies To Bank Of America Branch To Collect Unpaid Debt - The Consumerist According to the story, Bank of America allegedly wrongly foreclosed on the couple's house. The couple claims they racked up several thousand in legal fees defending their interests, and that BoA was not satisfactorily responsive. BoA ultimately cut a check which, according to the deputies, satisfied the writ. The article isn't clear on whether the couple actually won a judgement against BoA or not, but it's an interesting story nonetheless. Score one for the little guy! Just goes to show you that no matter how big and expensive the party is on the other side of the courtroom, the consumer still stands a chance.
