Looking for some Quick Advice. Got served for medical bill. I thought insurance got it, but no pre-exisitng, they say. Any way Court is tomorrow, Bill is for $590 + $62 costs and $177 Atty fee. Should I just go down and pay it today and ask for deletion and then show in court tomorrow to prove it is paid? Or just do the whole thing tomorrow? I'm in VA. Thanks
Who sued you? The medical provider or a CA? I wouldn't pay anything today. Show up in court and explain the circumstances so they can't just get a default judgement against you. Try to reach an agreement regarding a payment plan that you can afford.
I'm a little late, but that sounds as if it's in General District Court. You'd be as well just to show in court and pay it after first docket call.
