Can you email me a copy of the letter you are sending to creditors regarding unauthorized inquiries? Also how do you find the addresses to the creditors that made the inquiries. We have about 40+ to dispute but no way in H**# of knowing anything about them. She did NOT even apply with 99% of these people. Apparently the dealer sent out apps to every lender in the 50 states. She signed one and only one application, that should say something there huh? Help me here. You have so much knowledge, I have none and I can't really afford $300 per item to WestCap.
i'd really appreciate you e-mailing me that letter as well lizardking. i've got almost the same issue going on with my ex and eq reports. Here's one example of a problem i'm having with experian: Cap One Mastercard closed on 12/99 paid off (zero bal) on 11/99. Ex is showing me late 30 days 1/00, and 60 days 2/00, I've already (twice) via certified mail sent them copies of the last statment showing account with zero ($0) balance and printed on statement was " your account is now closed... " both times now it comes back verifed. I spoke with sup's at c1 and they're all told me ex has never contacted them regarding this account. when i called ex and asked to have them fax or send me this alleged letter they claimed it's confidential... oh yeah one more thing.. on my ex report under "your use of credit" is showing this account having a zero ($0) bal in 12/99, 2/00, and 3/00. lizardking... i'm prepared to do whatever it takes. i'm not afraid to file a lawsuit against the CRA. not only for unauthorized inq's, but also the cap one thing which is damaging.
I understand what you are doing. I am wanting to do the very same thing. I've had success with TU removing the inquiries but not EQ. That's why I asked you to send me a copy of the letter you are using. If you don't want to send it, I understand.
Lizard, just a suggestion, but since it's obvious that many people are going to want a copy of your letter, why don't you email it to PBM and ask him to post it in the letter section.
A similar thing happened to us last year when we were buying a car. If you ask the CRA, they will send you a list of names, addresses and phone numbers of the companies who made the inquiries. They will do this if you call them. At least that has been my experience. Good Luck!
