I need expert help. Does anyone have any ideas what kind of letter I could write concerning duplicated collection accounts on credit reports? It doesn't appear to be the CA's fault, but the CRA's (EQ). It has two entries where there should be one. However, the "one" isn't even mine. HELP? :)

When I disputed duplicates, that is just what I said. Something like, "you are reporting xxx acct. 2 times on my report. acct #xxx is a duplicate listing and therefore must be deleted."

It worked both times. Just spell it out in plain English for the morons so they possibly understand.

You might even call to see if they will delete one of them right over the phone. If they say no and ask you if you want to start an investigation, say no, and send it by certified mail.

I disputed them as duplicates and sometimes I would get both deleted.. and sometimes just one. If you are going for just one, state the one that is newer.

If one acct is orginial and the other is duplicate but the c/a- you said dispute the newer of the two. The c/a keeps updating the information at least once a year. Should I tell them to remove the orginial creditor? or the c/a- who might update later this year?
