Hi LKH, I was just approved for a Citi sliver (6K limit) and Citi Gold (7K) limit. I am at the 3/4 pole in my credit correction efforts and couldn't resist applying. My scores are EQ 720, Ex 697 and TU 683. I was worried because there are still a few issues on EX and Tu. I guess I lucked out, finally. Question is, how long did you wait until you combined the cards? Did you wait until the cards physically arrived or did you call customer service? Also, did Citi want to pull another CR before upgrading you. Thanks in advance Ivan
Hi Ivan, Congrats on the citi cards. Actually I haven't upgraded yet. I will do that when the cards arrive. I was told that they were mailed out yesterday. From what I understand, they will not pull another report. I don't believe you have to wait for the cards before upgrading.
just wait about 3-4 business days and change them. If you combine the gold into the silver, your silver will be the same number as your plat select in case you get itchy and need to use it. Citi customer support is impeccable, they won't question nor bat an eye at what you are doing.
Thanks. I will also wait for the cards to arrive. I didn't expect to apply for anything until this summer; this was a VERY pleasant surprise. I will post which CRA was pulled when I know. Thanks again, Iv
We didn't wait for my hubby - we combined them before we got the cards - just called CS and asked about it and she said we could do it now... so we did. Got a letter yesterday confirming the transaction. We got the Platinum Select, 12.99%, no annual fee. There is the Platinum Select Dividends, which gives you % back, but the interest rate is much higher (17.99%??), so it depends on how you plan to use your card as to which card would be most beneficial to you. I think I read that someone else combined it into their Sony Platinum card... go to citi.com and check out the different cards and their benefits to see which one would float your boat best. =-) Ozzy.
Oz, was it the silver and gold that you combined to upgrade to the Platinum? Did Citi want to pull another report? Thanks Iv
